AJC & Son Development Builds New OB/GYN Suite for Unity Health System
April 2011
In early April, Anthony J. Costello & Son Development completed an 8,500-square-foot suite at its Clinton Crossings Medical Center in Brighton for longtime tenant Unity Health System.
Unity requested the buildout so it could move an OB/GYN suite from the third floor of Building E to a new larger suite on the second floor of Building E. The project took 64 days to complete, which according to Mark Klein, project superintendent, was a tremendous accomplishment. "Typically a buildout of that size would usually take four months," he said.
Klein credited the contractors, Unity's suite officer manager, Tina Gilbert, and Anne Brett, who coordinated contracts and change orders associated with the project. Klein and his team of contractors were able to salvage materials such as doors, sinks and light fixtures from the vacant existing suites on the second floor and reuse them for the Unity project. "I think it's a great suite," Klein said. "I think we provided a wonderful new location and they love it."
The Reserve Residential Community Moving Forward
January 19, 2011
Anthony J. Costello & Son Development is moving forward with building a $170 million residential community on the Erie Canal in Brighton called The Reserve. The announcement follows unanimous approval from The Town of Brighton Planning Board for the project at its January 19 meeting.
The go-ahead culminates a nearly five-year long approval process between the developer and The Town of Brighton. The stage is now set for construction to begin. Current plans call for breaking ground in 2012. Anthony J. Costello & Son Development and The Town of Brighton recognize the pent-up demand for new housing in Brighton among young professionals, growing families, empty-nesters and active seniors.
The Reserve will be built on a 63-acre parcel that borders the Erie Canal to the south with the main road accessing the development located off South Clinton Avenue. It will feature six distinct neighborhoods with homes ranging from mid-$200,000s and up. The types of homes that will be built include loft condominiums with underground parking, townhomes, patio homes, traditional brownstones and custom-built estate homes. In total the plan calls for building 66 single-family residences, 75 townhomes and 186 loft condominiums.
